You don't want to miss this
Hi,
AN EVENT IN DC IN THE SPRING: A few days ago,
I invited people to participate in a survey to help
determine whether there was interest in continuing
the annual storytelling event in Washington DC
in the Spring and if so, what sort of an event.
Many thanks if you were one of the 72 people who
participated in the survey which closed on Sunday at noon.
The winners of the raffle prize (a copy of my
book,
The
Leader's Guide to Radical Management)
are Stephanie Brown and David Jamieson.
You can see a summary of the results of the
survey
here.
As a response to the views expressed in the survey,
my current thinking is to join with my colleague,
Seth Kahan, and offer a one-day workshop on
"revolutionizing the world of work" on Friday
April 29, 2011 in Washington DC. Storytelling
would be an important part of it, but only a
part. The idea would be to hold it on a Friday
in the Spring in DC, so that it could mesh with
a possible Golden Fleece event on the next day,
Saturday. More details shortly.
"ONE OF THE TRULY GREAT MANAGEMENT BOOKS":

REMEMBER THE GRAMEEN BANK? Remember the
heart-warming story of microcredit helping poor

SOCIAL MEDIA: My earlier piece on social media, "Are
social media killing
real conversation?" sparked, guess
what, a conversation. Who would have thought? A
follow-up piece examined another advantage of
online conversation: the ability to get away means
one is never bored. Read it

COOL TED VIDEO: A video from an Australian, Rachel
Botsman, on collaboration consumption shows us
how we might start to rid ourselves from our addiction
to things. Watch it

HR READY TO LEAD THE REVOLUTION? Here's some
good news. I did a webcast for HR people last week
and the polls that were taken indicated a surprising
willingness to
lead the revolution to reinvent
management.
NEW GOAL FOR LABOR UNIONS: Labor unions' focus
on better pay and benefits for workers has backfired.
Instead they need to be focusing on better management.
